The 30 Day 4=16 Canadian Lucy Challenge

in #cannabis5 years ago (edited)

Remember that little cannabis plant that came late to the plantation planting party...

The one that I named Lucy?

In the photo (above) notice the size of the cannabis plant shadows. Lucy is the shortest plant at approximately 3 feet tall.

In the photo (below) you can see what Lucy looked like when I started.

At the end of July, I aggressively cropped her main stalk and pinned her other branches back. Just to see, if I could successfully force a growing position, without over stressing or completely killing the plant entirely.

That gave Lucy 4 strong horizontal stalks from 1 root, let me stretch her out a little bit and ultimately grow 4 plants from 1.

(In Canada, we currently have a 4 plant minimum if your physical street address qualifies you to grow, legally.)

Now that I know that I can be this aggressive (with certain strains) of cannabis I am going to continue to refine my stretch and restrain training techniques.

One way to discover what is possible is to push the limits and observe exactly what happens as a direct result.

This may seem simplistic, but this is how I have chosen to learn how to grow cannabis.

So what exactly happened?

See What I See:

She grew and encased the main stock (which was about a 1/2 inch nub). Then she completely incorporated it, into one of her 4 (now very strong) horizontal stocks and you’d never know!

Then, she filled out...

She’ll be a brick house. Mighty. Mighty. By the time I’m through.

Now, the next big questions are:

  • Will Lucy continue to catch up to her Amazon sisters who have been in the ground (growing ) 6 weeks longer?

  • And (more importantly) will she be able to yield a decent crop?

Stay lifted!

Those plants look beautiful! I had no idea they grew so big.

Thanks @cannawriter!
My Queens are just over 6 feet tall and 4-5 feet wide.
I have kept these plants 1/2 the height and 1/2 the width that they could be...

I am in the centre of Canada. Our outdoor growing season is June-October.

Other countries can grow much longer and their Queens are trees. Hahaha!

You’ll see. :D

I look forward to seeing! I am loving the weedcash network, so much fun stuff here. I thought it was just going to be pictures of people getting high, which I wouldn't mind, but my experience has been much better than I expected, blockchain blockouts and all.
