As you can see (by now) once you have learn how to lace food with cannabis, you can convert any of your favourite recipes into its medicinal active variation.

Just make sure that:

  • You use some fat or an equivalent binding medium for the cannabinoids to latch onto so that they can eventually be absorbed without passing through the body.

  • You either use complementary flavours that enhance or bring out the flavours that the cannabis strain (that you have used) contains. Or, you use other herbs and spices to conceal the flavour of the cannabis altogether.

And

  • That you properly and thoroughly mix the cannabis into the food that you are medicating so that each portion gets an equal dose and you don’t end up with pockets of your recipe which are more heavily medicated than others.

This last piece becomes very important when your goal is to medicate an entire meal.

Give some thought to the strength of each part of the gastronomic and psychoactive experience that you want your dinner guests to ultimately enjoy. It’s important to keep everyone comfortable and happy while you’re entertaining guests. Trust me, it will be less work in the end, if you can keep everyone from greening out while they sit at your dining table.

Ingredients:

  • 7 cups of rhubarb cubed
  • 1 lb of strawberries, quartered (if using fresh berries)
  • 8 lemons juiced (1.5 cups)
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1/3 cup of Swerve (sugar replacement made with oligosaccharides)
  • 1/4 cup of cannabis infused bee honey

Directions:

  1. Harvest the rhubarb, straight from your own patch, (if you can) because fresh is best.

  1. Remove the leaves (they’re poisonous).

  1. Cut the rhubarb into smaller pieces (7 cups in total).

  1. Clean and remove the leaves from a full pound of strawberries.

  2. Cut the strawberries into quarters (if using fresh berries).

  3. Juice 8 lemons and add the juice (1.5 cups) to a medium size pot on your stove.

  1. Set the flame to a low simmer.

  2. Add 1 cup of water to the pot.

  3. Add the rhubarb and the strawberries to the pot and start cooking it down while stirring the pot regularly. You want to keep any natural sugars (from the berries or the rhubarb) from sticking and burning onto the bottom of the pot as you cook down the contents.

  4. Add 1/3 cup of Swerve (a sugar replacement made from fruits and vegetables).

  5. Add 1/4 cup of cannabis infused bee honey.

  1. Continue to cook this mixture down (it will take about 30 minutes) until the contents are soft and thoroughly stewed. Refrigerate for 24 hours to let all the flavours meld together.

Stewed strawberry rhubarb compote makes a great filling for pies and tarts.

It can also be used as a topping for crumbles and as a filling for trifles and parfaits.

It’s a beautiful combination of sweet and tangy tartness which has the potential to elevate you to another dimension, once medicated with efficiency.

I welcome your comments and I invite you to follow me on my journey...maintaining the perfect balance between sweet and sour...we’ll be making some puckering good progress going forward. Bring on Summer! ;)

Oh Yum! My favorite ice cream topping is strawberry rhubarb sauce. I can't grow rhubarb here in Florida so have to settle for buying it at the grocery store. Last year I bought several pounds to freeze but have since eaten it all lol. I will restock as soon as it hits the produce market!

Wonderful I long for the day cannabis is acceptable here in England. Not had it in years mainly due to the threat of drugs test as work 💯🐒

That part is just miserable. I really think that we will see cannabis become legal in most countries within our lifetime.

I am sure we will! I fear England will be one of the last. But I have plans to move soon, so happy days 💯🐒

medicinal hm :) ofcourse

the trick to cooking with weed or hash is the fat, the butter, even if you have homegrown plants you can leave the leaves and stems to "draw" overnight" in molten butter, then use that butter to cook with, all the active substance should be dissolved (you can use the buds ofcourse but you can make sure nothing goes to waste like that)

using THAT butter to cook with you can do about anything. Its been about 20 years since i did but my hash-eclairs were mighty mighty ...euh .. medicinal

mighty mighty medicinal .. just put the hash in butter and dissolve it

using any kind of fat (like butter) is VERY important even if you make tee you might consider adding some , it simply chemistry that part :)

Agreed. In the bee honey, the cannabis binds to the particles of plant-based, esters of fatty acids found in the beeswax. This means that you have to use a honey that hasn't had all the beeswax filtred out of it. ;)

the fat of the land , i can't say i used to use it for medicinal purposes though but i can say i feel its long overdue that it should be 100% legalized, i quit smoking over 13 years ago, it happens

on occasion few times a year tops but i know what im talking about

its a waste for people who need it , its a waste for the money it would earn for the economy

and its a TOTAL waste for people who get criminalized AND the ones who make a lot of money just because its criminal

total loss :p

see you around

Ohman, I loved my Grandmas strawberry/rhubarb pie she would make. I imagine how much more I would have enjoyed them if they were made like your recipe. Hope all is well. RESPECT

Hey Grimm! How are you? Yeah, that's the thing if you get onto cooking with the herb you can take these great old family recipes and completely re-engineer them.

One day when I have my own grows I will implement into my cooking.
