One Love ... One Heart ... HolySmoke! and the Roaring river Rastafarians !!

Sit back ... relax ... grab your favorite bong, or maybe roll a fatty ... this is the 2nd in a series; i'll show a brief clip and tell a little Story for each one... the experience that follows took place in Jamaica, well before Legalization.. at the time, people were still unjustly being persecuted for their Love of Ganja / Cannabis.

Take a Trip with me now… Deep into the Hills of Jamaica, to a place named after the Roaring river that rages through it .. just through the sugar cane fields, at the foot of a small mountain, there is a Spring where Bob Marley used to wash his Dreads; where the Purest Water Flows from out of the Limestone Rocks as Blue as the Sky; Where the people Share a Smile with every passing stranger; the air is thick with the pungent smell of Burning Ganja, Everyone has their Own Song, and Happiness Reigns..

i met these fellows at my hotel; where they had a bi-weekly music gig, and a free buffet .. I was looking to buy a hand hewn Djembe Drum, and just so happened, Bigga Dread was good friends with the Drum Maker, another Rasta Brethren.. we made plans to meet up at the village in the Hills the next day ..

About Rastafarianism ...

Since Ganja is a religious Sacrament to them, they Smoke near constantly... Explaining to me, that the Smoke, as well as the Buzz itself, protected them from evil spirits, and Babylon vampires... I readily agreed; as, i abhor vampires entirely (or anything that sucks blood for that matter) .. I had already bought several packs of "Lion of Judah" papers, and rolled the biggest tapered "Spliffs" i could muster ... since Hashish was so cheap and readily available, i always put a strand of Hashish in the first 3rd of each 'Spliff ! (any more than that and the HUGE Joint would become too saturated with resin to even enjoy!)... So it was that i smoked at least as much as any 2 Rasta's put together... even mosquitoes could not penetrate our protective Smoke Shields... Full Power !! HolySmoke! ..

When i got to the village, the taxi driver wasn't sure if i should be dropped off without a friend to accompany me, he got the location, from a passerby, and wanted to drop me off at his doorstep (there are no addresses in the village); i assured him i would be fine, (i was protected from harm by Jah! the Almighty !!) and walked along following the directions to Bigga Dread's shack.. by the time i got there, i had attained a small following of curious onlookers; i found the shack and Bigga's Wife pointed me to the backyard, as she shooed the small crowd away... As i've stated in my 'introduceyourself, i'm the type of person, for whatever reason, has had many, many, names... At that time, and that place, i was referred to as "the General" ... When i asked why, they said it was because i came to them with no Fear, clearly i was protected by the "Most High", and it showed in the way i carried myself... needless to say i was deeply moved, and it felt akin to 'coming Home !!!
