Cannabis - ‘None So Blind as Those Who Will Not See’
The Cannabis Plant, botanical name - Cannabis Sativa – produces Hemp, Weed also known as Herbal Cannabis, and Skunk, the highest potency product.
Marijuana is the Mexican name for the Plant.

It seems obvious to all, except the U.K. Government Home Office, that a mistake was made in ditching Cannabis without serious examination of claims that it is a plant with valuable medicinal properties. A classic example of ‘Throwing the Baby out with The Bath Water’
Consequently, it was hijacked by the illegal drugs trade, which brought about the very health dangers that prohibition sought to prevent.
We learn nothing - When alcohol was banned during the prohibition years in the USA, It drove production and consumption underground, where alcohol of various strengths was made in illicit stills, from dubious ingredients, usually at night, thus earning the name – Moonshine.
Eventually common sense dawned, and alcohol was licensed and regulated. The same urgently needs to happen with Cannabis.
With Cannabis – instead of illicit stills it is cultivated secretly in bedrooms and warehouses.
If you have access to licenced and regulated products it removes the need to get supplies from shady irresponsible street suppliers, peddling products of various strengths and unknown origin.
Alcohol in various strengths is available in many different products with the intoxicating potency printed on the label. The intoxicating effect is well known. In moderation It provides relaxation and uplift for many after stress, as well as being a party mood setter, and celebration go to.
Cannabis for medical, and recreational - which means for personal use – should also carry the TCH content (The psychoactive cannabinoid that produces intoxicating highs) on the label.
The problem isn't with intoxicating products that are licenced and regulated.
It’s with their users striking a balance with judgement and discipline.
Types of cannabis
The three main types of cannabis –
Hemp (hashish or resin), Hash is made from the resin of the plant, contains cannabidiol (also known as CBD - with negligible THC - the psychoactive cannabinoid that produces intoxicating highs. Hemp products are licensed to be sold in the U.K.
Herbal cannabis (weed, grass or marijuana) The recreational i.e. personal use Cannabis, usually smoked. Herbal cannabis is made from the dried leaves and flowering parts of pollinated cannabis plants. Illegal in the U.K.
High-potency Cannabis or Skunk. Illegal in U.K. and many other countries.
Skunk is made from unpollinated cannabis plants which contain higher levels of THC - the substance that gives users the 'intoxicated highs’ they seek, but overuse can lead to dependency and serious side effects, including paranoia and hallucinations.

It seems the world is slowly moving to legalization of marijuana. I think Canada just passed a bill to legalize it. If it is monitored and standardized, it might help some people and generate tax dollars, while reducing criminal gang activity. We'll see what happens!
Thank you. Because of my interest in herbal medicine for over 30 years I've studied the Cannabis plant in some depth.
Its obvious that before licencing and regulation any health damage attributed to the plant must have been caused through using illegal products i.e not prescribed by a qualified medical professional.
