How to Grow A Cannabis Microgrow

in #cannabis7 years ago

A Cannabis micro-grow can be a great way to grow cannabis stealthily and with minimal smell. A Micro-grow can work well when growing in a PC Grow-box or if space is an issue. A micro- grow wont produce as much bud as an ordinary plant however if stealth is an issue then a micro-grow is your best bet. For this micro-grow you will need somewhere to grow, A few small pots or mugs work as well and some auto-flower cannabis seeds. Auto-flower seeds must be used as they have a shorter flowering period and when the roots run out of room to grow they will automatically start flowering, whereas an ordinary cannabis plant could die when the roots run out of room to grow.

  1. The first step when starting off a micro-grow is to of course germinate the seeds this can be done using any method you want such as the paper towel method or any other method which works well.
  2. Next you can get your growing containers ready, I have been using a 50/50 mix of soil and compost but you can use any mix you like as long as the plant will grow.
  3. Now once the seeds have been germinated they are ready to plant, start by poking a hole in the soil of each pot(a few centimetres deep should be fine) then put the seed in the hole and cover with soil.
  4. Now all is left to do is regularly water the plants and make sure they stay healthy.
  5. If you are growing indoors it can be a good idea to keep the lights on 24/7 if possible, this gives the plants the chance to grow as big as possible before they have to be harvested, and don't worry auto flowers will grow better with 0 hours of darkness.

Tank you for reading this far and happy growing :)

This is really cool. I may give this a go. I can legally have 14 plants, but I have always been worried about the space it would take up and omg the smell. I like the smell, but would need it to be incognito here at home. Thank you fir this post you have me thinking now...🤘🖤🤘

chrzz man glad u enjoyed the post :)

Upvoted this post! Keep it Green 🌱🌿☘️🍃🍀

Nice :)

Couple helpful hints...

  • No need for autoflower strains only, if you work with clones
  • OT1's Bonsai Mum guide will show you how to keep bonsai mums
  • All cannabis grows better with 3-4hrs of darkness, even autos
  • The more balanced the nutrition and the closer it is to the proper amount the plant requires at the moment, the higher the quality of the end flowers ;)

Check out the Micro Grows section on icmag.com for information posted by thousands of micro growers. Everything from strain selection to nutrition, to proper micro grow construction and more.

Go Be Awesome! :D

thanks for the feedback man, I haven't been growing for long so still learning :)

My pleasure! My goal is to help as many growers as possible. She's an amazing plant. :D

This is quite good a content and interestingly informative. Thanks a lot.

Nice piece on auto-flower, micro-grows. One thing we would like to mention is that auto-flower strains can be a lot less forgiving then photoperiod strains. They are going to flower at a certain time no matter what. So any issues during the grow will greatly impact the end results.

We haven't tried them yet because we like to control the veg / flower cycle with photoperiod (non-auto) strains.

And because we are not limited by space. So we would rather put out a couple ounces per plant even if it pushes the grow period out a number of weeks.

Great post, simple and effective instructions.

In Denver Colorado where it is legal to grow, most growers use a 18 hours Lights on and then 6 hours Lights off. The 🌱 plants need a few hours of rest each day. This is best done with a timer. Don’t forget a small fan to circulate fresh air and the air movement helps the stems be stronger.

oh right man didn't realise i think i read somewhere that 24 hour light produced bigger buds, cheers for the feedback :)

@briandenver

Are you talking about autos being given an 18/6 for the entire grow?

Most articles stress not giving Auto-strains less than 18 hours of light. And many seed vendors suggest anywhere up to 24 hours will bring comparable results. Since they are going to do their thing on their own schedule. 18/6 is more for saving on energy then anything else.

This is quite good a content and interestingly informative. Thanks a lot.
