Libertarian Shift In American Culture Witnessed in Successive Social Survey's Since the 1990s Correlating with Technological Diffusion of the Internet
Anarchapulco is really dope. Watched some really amazing speeches and sessions. I really enjoyed the debate between @LarkenRose and @laurasouthern. I was not convinced by Laura Southern's arguments. She did make an interesting idea that politics is downstream of culture. She seemed to make the argument that voluntarism and being free someday is not possible so better to engage in teleology and not live in a moral society, that a little evil is telelogically justifiable.
I disagree with Southern's cynical perspective. Instead I see significant evidence that people do not want the government to centrally plan society.
One of the best surveys in America that is done every two years is the General Social Survey. Since the 1990's Americans have increasingly supported gay equality and marijuana legalization. By 2012 a majority of Ameicans wanted gay formal equality. By 2014, a majority of Americans wanted marijuana legal.
I suspect this libertarian shift in American society is due to the decrease in media gatekeepers caused by the technological diffusion of the internet and later social media. I suspect blockchain market correcting central bank funny money will further help lead to decentralization and liberty. I think looking at the actual trends in culture actually strengthen's Larken's arguments.

Be careful with that GSS survey. They also ask about gun ownership and the results they get are terribly inaccurate because it turns out that a significant number of people lie when the government asks them if they own guns or not. Self report surveys are inherently unreliable.
