Edibles would be great for people who are active (you mentioned running), very true. I think vapour (dabs) aren't as bad as smoke in terms of lung irritation, but yeah if I was running I probably wouldn't dab until after. Perhaps a tincture or capsules, so I could get a high enough dose, but not have a belly full of edibles like gummies or baking.
Here in Vancouver the free market for cannabis is strong. Legalization is coming down hard, and will bring lower quality and options (but higher prices) but we'll keep fighting for patients and the free market.

Okay not to get totally off the OP's topic. But I truly hope that Canada doesn't go the direction you see it going. I would like to see your country follow the trend of California and other legalized states. Where the quality, and price are currently inversely linked. Quality continues to increase, why options and prices continue to drop. There is also a super glut of cannabis in those areas.

Years ago I would gladly consider smoking flower prior to jogging. Those days are gone. Also edibles doesn't 'fill' the belly, so often a gummy or couple drops of oil or tincture and you're all set for upwards of 2 hours.
Well it's sad but "legalization" in Canada was just a trick to get Trudeau elected. Now he's monopolizing cannabis for big business industry types. Everybody like me and the patients and activists and dispensaries are all going to be raided and put in jail. They're going to use the tax revenue to pay for increased prohibition against peaceful growers and sellers. 14+ years prison per offense. No outdoor growing. Monsanto genetics only, all the current breeds have to die out. It's Orwellian up here.
And it just passed in our Senate and is expected to be law any time now.
Here's to hoping that things don't completely play out the way you're describing things.
