Mexico Looking To Export CBD Oil To Colombia

in #cannabis8 years ago

HempMeds Mexico recently announced in a press release that they were looking to get into the business of exporting CBD oil to Colombia. The company itself is a subsidiary of Medical Marijuana Inc, which is a California-based business. And they are thus far the only ones who have received approval from the Mexican government, via the Commission for the Protection against Sanity Risk (COFEPRIS), to be able to import the CBD oil into Mexico.

The company hopes that one day they will be able to open some local cannabis operations in Colombia and they plan to contribute in a big way in helping to grow the distribution channels there.

Citizens in the United States, Canada, and other nations, have a variety of options available to them when they want to find some cannabis or CBD oil, but for those living in other countries it can be very difficult to locate. And often means that you are risking jail-time if you do get caught with it in a country that doesn't allow it. At the recent Expo Mede Weed 2016 that was held in Medellin, Colombia, representatives from HempMeds say that they received their first cannabis order that came from federal officials.

HempMeds plans to make a generous donation of CBD oil to doctors and other low-income patients, after they have received further approval from the Colombian authorities. Colombia joins Australia, Germany, Canada, Chile, Spain, and many others in having some relatively loose cannabis laws, compared to other nations.

Since 1994, small amounts of cannabis possession have been legalized in the country (up to 22 grams). It's also legal for medical and scientific purposes. As well, the cultivation of the plant for personal use (up to 20 plants) has also been decriminalized.

It is a shame that the government representatives take their sweet time in trying to sort out the ongoing mess, scrambling to determine what amount of force is the right amount of force to use when it comes to controlling what "free people" are allowed to put into their bodies. There are many people who might be able to find some remedy from this substance, many who could see a vast improvement in their standard of living, but they are prevented from experiencing it because we need to first get a bunch of bureaucrats involved; to tell us how to make safe decisions for ourselves.
