Cannabis Delivery Startup Raises $13 Million
A new cannabis startup, Eaze, has recently secured $13 million in funding for it's delivery business, which brings its total in raised funding to about $25 million.
This makes the company the fastest growing and most funded company in the cannabis technology space.
The company is described as a tech-startup rather than just a cannabis startup. And it's main office is located in San Francisco. The startup partners with dispensaries in the local area in order to provide those venues access to the data that it acquires from its customers and to distribute product. As soon as someone sends an order request to Eaze, it is the dispensaries that are going to carry-out the delivery itself.
For now they are only serving a few areas in California but they do plan to expand. Of course their expansion will depend on cannabis regulations in various states. Many states are going to be voting this fall for further legalization so it might just be the perfect time for Eaze to expand their operations.
For those who already obtain medical or recreational cannabis, there are many ways to go about acquiring it. And this cannabis delivery startup just provides one more private option in the market for people who are looking to secure cannabis for themselves.
Eaze started with the approach of delivering medical cannabis to patients but in the future it will become much more than that. And of course they aren't the only ones, there are a few others already available like Grassp, Nugg, Nestdrop, and more. The Eaze platform also allows individuals to get easily in contact with a doctor so that they could get a prescription for themselves if needed, this allows them to use cannabis for medical use.
Those who order from the Eaze service usually receive their package within 15 minutes on average. And for those who haven't ever used the app before and who don't have a medical cannabis prescription for themselves, such an individual has been able to sign-up, see a doctor, get a prescription, and get their package delivered to them all under 2 hours. This might not be the average service rate, but it sure is impressive.
