Declaration of Cannabinoid Receptor Function, Critical to Effective Application of Treatment.

in #cannabis5 years ago

A new generalized declaration of cannabinoid receptor function, for the sake of informational and educational texts. The correlation between receptor type and their respective cannabinoids is critical to proper/effective application of treatment.

CB1 (cannabinoid receptor type one) is a HYDROPHOBIC cannabinoid receptor type which is chemically available to hydrophobic cannabinoids. THC is a hydrophobic phyto-cannabinoid molecule (water insoluble).

CB2 (cannabinoid receptor type two) is a HYDROPHILIC cannabinoid receptor type which is chemically available to hydrophilic cannabinoids. CBN is a hydrophilic phyto-cannabinoid molecule (soluble in water).

There are chemical exceptions to the statements in the post above. Though without first declaring the general functions of these receptors and their respective cannabinoids, we cannot begin to apply treatment to the "correct end of the patient."

By "correct end" it is intended that the correct cannabinoid be ingested or inhaled, supplement which is chemically effective to the particular type of cell.

Each cell type expresses a specific ratio of cannabinoid receptors, a spectrum on which to plot cell types. From 100% CB1 expression to 100% CB2, with 50/50 being the center of the spectrum.
