Exposure to mutagenic toxins cause the division of a mutagenically altered nucleus into two cancer cell nuclei. Endogenous cannabinoid ligands bind with cannabinoid receptors at the membranes of cancer cells causing apoptosis (cell death). Phagocytic white blood cells metabolize the dead pathogenic cells, producing oxides that react with endogenous cannabinoids. Proliferation of cancer cells is caused by oxidation of endogenous apoptotic compounds before they can cause apoptosis of cancer cells.
