A friend of mine recently picked up a few hash making toys so he could turn his outdoor from last season into some smooth glassy hash. Last night we hooked up & ran a couple of batches from my garden while watching the ufc fights.
This first pic is from a run of ayahuasca purple flower, I haven’t officially tried this one yet. Tonight at night!
& this is the product of a lemon kush headband trim run. We smoked a bunch of this in a joint with the same lemon bud & it was a very smooth rich happy hi. My brain enjoyed very much

From here it goes to a water bath on a skillet to evoporate the solvent & then a final purge seen below 👇
This is the first time I’ve ever made hash like this, generally I’m not a fan of solvents, but seeing as my friend had everything ready to go thought it’d be fun to give it a try.
For hash from flower I prefer making rosin as you lose a lot less terpenes & it’s solvent free, but this is a great way to get good hash from trim, which is not doable on a press from my experience.

These both look delicious, thanks for sharing them with us. I'd like to inform you that you can make rosin from your trim on your press. The way to do so is to first make bubble hash or kief from the trim. Then simply put the bubble hash or kief into a silk bag and place the silk bag on your press and press your rosin. Kief seems to yield better than bubble hash so I'd recommend turning your trim to kief and pressing that. Give it a try, as you are totally correct that using a solventless hash is way better than using hash made with butane.
This wasn’t butane actually, some other form of solvent that is supposed to be cleaner but not sure the exact name. Personally I am very sensitive to chemicals & this stuff wasn’t overly strong to me.
I prefer to sift my trim for kief. I’ve made bubble hash from trim before & was too much work for the reward for my taste. I normally end up cooking with my sifted trim. Coconut oil in my fridge

Was it MZ-12x? I’ve heard mixed reviews from my hash making friends. I love the idea that it is organic, non-toxic and less flammable than other common solvents.

Dang. I wasn’t aware there were other companies making DME. I need to do some more research. Are you guys using a vac chamber or oven to purge?

The hi depends on your tolerance & quality. The first dab I ever took lit me up for 8 hours before bed. I’d expect a similar result if you don’t smoke all the time

If you can run the solvent outside it’s pretty safe. Really small batch so not a lot of fumes

It’s all hash, you can call it shatter or oil or rosin or anything else you want, but they are all sub categories of hash. If I were being anal about labeling it super accurately I would call it shatter, however, it would still be a form of hash.

Was thinking about this again & the first time I saw anything like this about 8 years ago it was called hash oil. Then they started calling it BHO (butane hash oil) & then they started calling it shatter
Ya best general term I like is concentrates seams to sum all types up
