I watched a documentary on this situation recently and found it incredulous! It's hard to fathom this level of irrationality and illogical policy.
My speculation is that the VVD was put in by the various mafias. This at least makes sense as far as looking to who benefits from any particular policy.
It's truly bizarre given the success of Portugal on this issue.
Good peoples lives are being destroyed by these fascist policies as far as I can tell from a distance​.......
