in #cannabis2 years ago

Way to go New York! A 4,400 square foot recreational cannabis dispensary is slated to open in Manhattan on December 29th, just days away from the New Year. This launch will be supported by a charity focused on serving the underserved in New York City called Housing Works.

New York City is opening their large and legal cannabis dispensary before year's end, which will meet the ambitious goal set to open legal recreational cannabis shops in NYC by the end of 2022. It took a full year to approve the infrastructure for legal cannabis sales along with governmental infrastructure. This was a long slog and it was worth it. It's exciting and will pave the way for Federal cannabis legalization. We need to also remove cannabis from it's Schedule 1 classification as soon as possible.

New York recently released guidance documents for the regulation and opening of legal cannabis facilities. Businesses in the space may apply in a streamlined application for cannabis enterprises specializing in warehousing and distribution as well as dispensary sales.

New York City is one of the largest cities in the United States, and a cultural icon. Their action took a full year to implement, with cannabis being recreationally legalized in 2021. It is only a matter of time before cannabis is Federally legalized and decriminalized. Take this as a great step towards cultural acceptance as well. New York is a huge population center and is emminently culturally relevant. NYC can be a shining example of recreational cannabis infrastructure.

New York State is taking actions to decrimalize cannabis and has expunged the records of many with cannabis infractions in their past. This is a good step in the right direction. Way to go New York, and a happy 2023 is right around the corner. Keep it legal and follow the laws of your jurisdiction.
