Men, be aware of prostate cancer!

I saw this post on LinkedIn. A lecturer from South Africa wrote about prostate cancer. He said: Every year after you pass 35, you need to get your PSA checked. Those are tumor markers.

Cancer, like heart attack, is a silent killer. It comes without pain, without warning. By the time you know that it's in your body, it might be too late.

Heaven knows, some people say that prostate cancer is the slowest one of all. With proper care, a patient can live for 7 or 8 years, or more, after the initial prognosis. In comparison, those with lung and liver cancers tend to go sooner than expected.

Our lives are too short, some think -- too short to think about things like these. But things like these need our attention. It's precisely the things that don't shout for attention, that need more attention. Because by the time they get our attention, it might be too late.
