Ultra White Collar Boxing

in #cancer6 years ago (edited)

So i haven't been on here for a while, but i thought i would send another update.

So recently as some of you might already know if you know me from else where, i am currently training for a boxing match. This Boxing Match is to raise money for Cancer Research UK. I have currently been training for the last 2 weeks, and will be training for a further 6 weeks.

Training has been hard at times, but i think i'm finally getting used to it. It is being done by Paul, who is a very talented trainer and has been a boxer before becoming a trainer himself. There are a lot of people who are training along side me at the moment, men and women who are willing to give up their time, train with some professional boxers, and raise money for a good cause.

Did you know that Lung, bowel, breast and prostate cancers together accounted for almost half (46%) of all cancer deaths in the UK in 2014. More than a fifth of all cancer deaths are from lung cancer. More than half (53%) of cancer deaths in the UK are in people aged 75 years and over (2012-2014). Cancer effects almost everyone in the world, whether they have been directly effected, or know someone who has had Cancer.

This is not something that is going to go away without us doing anything, so i am showing my support for Cancer Research UK. I will be training and taking part in a boxing match on 24th March to raise Money for Cancer Research UK. My Father has unfortunately been effected by Cancer, and he has had to have his voicebox removed. It started simply with a bad throat, and what most people describe as a frog in their throat, having to clear their throat many times a day.

However it wasn't until it became almost impossible for him to breathe that he actually told us something was wrong and we took him to hospital. It was at that point we found out he had cancer, and that he needed to get his voice box removed. That was October Last year, and it's still effecting us now. He is unable to speak, and is currently undergoing Radio Therapy.

But, together as a nation, a people, as humans, we can work together to stop this effecting future generations. With Help that Cancer Research has been able to gain from programs like this, which raise money for their research, less people that ever before are being effected, and More than ever before are surviving. But i don't want us to just survive, i want to be able to stop cancer for good, to stop it from effecting other people, to stop it before it takes hold.

To do this we need your support, if you've read this i thank you, please share, and pass this on. If i can get as many people as possible to read this and share, then anything that i get from people liking this post, will go directly to Cancer Research UK, as part of my charity drive. However if you want to give directly then i believe you can give directly on my Just Giving page.

Please anything you can give by donating will helps millions of people across the world. IF you are unable to give anything at the moment, you can still help by liking and sharing this post.

I thank you for taking the time to read this, and i will try and keep everyone up to date with my fathers progress along with my own as i train for that match in March.
