La piedra de la virgen o piedra madre./ The stone of the virgin or mother stone.

Esta inmensa piedra se encuentra en la cierra montañosa de la carretera que va a santa Elena de guairen en el estado Bolívar.

This immense stone is located in the mountainous region of the highway that goes to Santa Elena de Guairen in the Bolívar state.

Se le llama así por qué cuando dinamitaron los cerros para la construcción de la carretera,está piedra fue muy resistente Quedando intacta,por eso le pusieron ese nombre de roca madre o piedra virgen. Se cree que su nombre se debe a la figura de una virgen que se puede divisar en la pared de piedra pero esa no es la razon...!
Al llegar a está piedra se considera es la entrada de la gran sabana, quedando está a unos 80metros de este hermoso parque nacional Canaima.

It is called that because when the hills were dynamited for the construction of the road, this stone was very resistant. It remained intact, that's why they gave it that name of mother rock or virgin stone. It is believed that its name is due to the figure of a virgin that can be seen on the stone wall but that is not the reason ...! Upon reaching this stone, it is considered to be the entrance of the great savanna, remaining about 80 meters from this beautiful Canaima national park.

A los pies de está inmensa piedra se encuentra la imagen de la virgen de lourdes. Cercano a ella está un manantial de agua donde los turista que se detienen a ver la inmensa piedra y su imagen, disfrutan de este manantial...se considera esta piedra un parador turístico.

At the foot of this huge stone is the image of the Virgin of Lourdes. Near it is a water spring where tourists who stop to see the immense stone and its image, enjoy this spring ... this stone is considered a tourist hostel.
