I am a big fan of Canadian Netflix, and I do believe it is the coolest Netflix region when it comes to great Hollywood movies in the upper category. As I just looked through the available content, I decided to create this little article presenting ten great action movies worth watching on Canadian Netflix in 2019.

It is important to notice that I am writing this article on January 30th in 2019, so it might be some changes happening throughout the year, meaning that some of the movies might be removed from Netflix in Canada and some great newcomers might come. But, still - these are ten great action movies available on Netflix Canada right now!

The Hitman's Bodyguard

I have been wanting to write a stand-alone article about this movie here on Steemit for a long time. This is an action movie with Samuel L. Jackson and Ryan Reynolds, and if you are a fan of both these actors, this movie is an action-packed movie that will make you laugh a lot! I just got to give praise to both the main actors! Samuel L. Jackson is cool, he is relaxed, but he is so quick in his mouth that it is impossible not to smile listening to him. Ryan Reynolds is the bodyguard, but he hasn't got an easy job watching out for Samuel L. Jackson in this movie. It is easy to feel compassion for Ryan Reynolds in this movie... But, even though these two guys are the main actors in the movie, let me not forget about Salma Hayek who is incredible in his role! If Samuel L. Jackson has a quick mouth, Salma Hayek has a machine-gun speeded tongue! This is action and comedy at the same time - amazing!

The Accountant

This was a movie that greatly surprised me as I watched it in the cinema. I expected Ben Stiller to be a quiet accountant who was simply very smart, not a kind of criminal with a giant knowledge about weapons and violence. Well, I was wrong! Not the best movie I have ever seen, but it was still enjoyable!

Thor: Ragnarok

It is not a secret at all, I am a big fan of the Thor movies, simply because I love the combination of Thor's great humor, his peace, and his total lack of fear, even in the most desperate situation. We get the same from Thor also in this movie, but to be honest, I think this is the Thor movie I have enjoyed the most so far. Aquaman was DC Comics attempt at creating a superhero similar to Thor, but they weren't even close at creating a hero with as good jokes and good mood as Thor!

The Bourne movies

Yes, it is true - you can watch all the Jason Bourne movies on Netflix in Canada. In other words, this is not one single movie, this is a series with several fantastic action movies with Matt Damon in the role as the secret agent Jason Bourne. Even the newest Jason Bourne movie from 2016, in which Academy Award winner Alicia Wikander plays can be seen at Netflix in Canada. This is a blast of a movie-series if you want some action on Netflix Canada tonight!

The Saint

So far I have only listed big Hollywood blockbusters, but now it is time for a little bit less-known movie, The Saint. This is an action movie about Simon Templar, a thief who is hired by a banker to find out who kidnapped his daughter. But, as you probably have guessed already, this is about so much more than what it looks like at the start. This is an interesting movie for those who have seen most of the big-shot movies and who want to stream a little bit less-known great action movie instead.

Inferno

Inferno is one of the big-success books written by Dan Brown, that has later been taken to the movie screen. I have both read the book and seen the movie, and my biggest surprise was how the ending of the movie was completely different from what we could read about in the book. But, I have seen the same happen before in the Angels and Demons book/movie, so it didn't surprise me that much after all.

If you are a fan of Robert Langdon and his way of understanding secret messages given through writings, paintings, poems and more, this is an action movie that you will enjoy. It isn't at all as good as Angels and Demons or The Da Vinci Code, but it still does the job for a couple of hours. And I almost forgot you can stream Angels and Demons and The Da Vinci Code as well on Netflix Canada so have fun!

Now You See Me 1&2

Wow, this is just one of my big favorite movie series, and I really look forward to the third movie which is supposed to be released around summertime in 2019. Here we meet Mark Ruffalo, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Woody Harrelson and Jesse Eisenberg in an amazing story about some random crew that is picked together to perform big magic with a purpose. The music is great, the acting is amazing (especially Woody Harrelson is a favorite of mine), and the magic tricks are simply stunning and they will make you want to watch the movies over and over again (especially the first one).

Limitless

Bradley Cooper is hot nowadays because of his singing, but a couple of years ago he did a great performance in the movie named Limitless. He gets hold of some pills that make his brain see, remember and understand all sorts of things, and it makes him unstoppable in business. But, how long can he keep it up, and what will happen if the pills stop coming? This is a great movie, and besides Bradley Cooper, it is also worth mentioning the great part played by Robert de Niro.

Avengers: Infinity War

Either you will like this one a lot, or you will be an opponent of all super-hero movies and move far away from the distance of this movie. Not only is it more than 2 hours of continous action, it is packed with superhero skills and all sorts of superheroes. I truly enjoyed it, and after watching Avengers: Infinity War, I cannot wait for the continuation to be released in April 2019. What will happen in Avengers: End Game? We will find out in April, but make sure to watch this movie and all the other Avengers movies before we get that far!

Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring

I had never read the Lord of the Rings before watching the movies. There was something on my inside that resisted the movies for a long time, but once I got started with Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring, I was hooked and it was on my mind for several days. All three Lord of the Rings movies can be streamed on Netflix in Canada, and it should be mentioned that the extended version of The Return of the King is available, something that will come as a nice bonus to the biggest fans (it lasts for 4 hours and 23 minutes).
