Democracy Is Not Enough

This Cambridge Analytica shows that democracy is not a panacea. It is almost as if relying on the "wisdom" mob to choose the politicians that make the laws that coerce us is not enough to guarantee a positive outcome.

In order to have a functional, free, just and progressive society, Life, Liberty, and Property must be jealously protected from the government. This is done by having not just mob rule, but also having institutional bulwarks against political infringement on our natural rights to life, private property, and freedom.
It would be of little consequence who or how someone was elected because the political damage they could inflict would be severely constrained.
