Traveling North Through The Heat Of California
Me and Rain Drop are heading to Washington and Oregon to get on the pasific crest trail on the north side for a few miles of hiking. It has been very hot in southern California here in the desert for several days now and I have been trying to get around the worst part of it but I am not getting far. We are back near San Diego right now and should be in Oregon with in a few days or so hopefully.
After we hiked around 80 miles on the pasific crest trail from the border of Mexico to the town of Julian Rain Drop and I stayed in El Cajon for a while before attempting to make our way across the scorching hot desert heading north. We didn't get very far as I had to get her out of the direct sunlight and heat by the third day or so.
I stopped by the beach and let Rain play on the west coast for the first time ever before we made it back to our friends house near San Diego. She loves to play on the beach.
She deserves it to after the long walk up to Bakersfield and getting cooked in the hot California heat for over three days. Hopefully we will be happy with the weather in northern California and Oregon up to Washington.
Me and Rain Drop are probably going to try to spend a little more time on the west coast beachs as we make our way north.
It seems to be somewhat cooler on the beach and I think we both enjoy being there a little more than being stuck in the sun and the dangerous extreme heat of the desert.
We have also been blessed with a couple of really good wildlife pictures from the ride back to El Cajon.
These little guys are so friendly that they will just walk right up to you and practically posed for the camera.
We are looking forward to getting more great pictures of the coast when we make our second attempt to get further north of southern California.
It's really a beautiful place to visit here in California and I'm happy for the opportunity to get these wonderful pictures but we are exhausted from the 107 degree heat and grateful for our friend that came to rescue us before we got baked in the sun.
Here we go again to discover new adventures and explore the pasific coastal areas of the country so keep up with our travels as we make our way to Washington.
