Mr Kipling - French Fancies
Afternoon All,
I had these playing on my mind for a few weeks now, so I decided it was time to get some in.
Mr Kipling - French Fancies
"Dainty Sponge Fancies with a delicious vanilla topping, drenched in soft fondant icing.
I love little picky things and I don’t know how long it’s been since I last had a French Fancy. I like the fact that there are three flavours too choose from. Strawberry, chocolate and lemon. These are bite sized mouthfuls of sponge with a vanilla cream top and flavoured fondant icing. The cakes are really light and fluffy. The fondant is really soft as well. The flavoured fondant is not strong, which is good because you won’t get the flavour of the vanilla cream. The vanilla cream is a blob on top of the sponge underneath the fondant. I like biting these in half so you can see your teeth marks.
In my personal preference I like the strawberry flavour first, followed by the lemon and in last but in no means least, the chocolate. I think it’s because the fruit flavoured ones seem to be lighter than the chocolate. If I had a tray of chocolate ones, I would become full very quickly. The trouble is with these being so light is that I can demolish the box easily, which I did! These are definitely ’Exceedingly good!’
They look delicious just by staring at the picture... I would kill for the chocolate flavour lolz.
@tomboy They really were yummy! The chocolate one is really good :-)
i love then thank u for sharing
You're welcome :-)
I swear these are one of those cakes/treats which look better than they taste. The anticipation of buying them or looking at them on the side when you were a child was almost painful but when you get to eat one they're just so sweet and almost sickly. I do on the other hand love Mr Kipling's Bakewell Tarts.
@skunkape30uk I love bakewell tarts. I find the Mr Kipling ones are very crumbly. I really love the co-op ones. U should give them a go :-)
