Byzantium Metropolis Hard Fork For Ethereum (ETH) Is Live

The much anticipated fork is live on Ethereum’s Ropsten Testnet. This is the beginning of the ice age but also the beginning of the ethereum gold rush

In all seriousness, this is a huge deal and brings ethereum to the next level in its ability to scale especially for larger players. Its go time!!

What do you need to do? Well, first you need to hurry and get some eth while the price is reasonable. If you already own eth, the hard fork will not make you transfer to a new coin. You really have to do nothing for the hard fork except let sweet dreams of lambos cloud your mind. 3rd parties will have to upgrade their software but you should still not have to do anything as you will still own the same amount of eth even if they did split into an additional coin.

This byzantium is currently on the testnet and should be live approximately October 9th or whenever eth hits the 4.3 millionth block.

When this goes live from testnet ethereum will have faster transaction speeds as well as be a lot more difficult to mine. It will also have an increase in privacy and anonymity for those that would want to hide your wealth or transactions for some reason. This will surely take away fro the overpriced Monero (XMR) which is for crypto darkness.

The next slated hard fork release is Constantinople. These hard releases will creep up on you hitting you with gold blocks in the back of the head if you wait for the last minute.
