Steem/Byteball Use-a-Thon is live
We are excited to announce the Steem/Byteball Use-a-Thon is live! In summary, the Use-a-Thon is a contest for Steem users to win Bytes by creating use cases for the Byteball platform.
You do not need to be a developer to take part nor have technical skills. The aim is to explore, experiment and apply existing Byteball features to solve a real-world problem or fulfill an existing need either online or offline in a local community.
There are weekly prizes, along with prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. You can enter on your own, or as part of a team. The earlier you enter, the more likely you are to win one of the weekly prizes. So if you are going to enter, we suggest you enter…...today!
@usernames have arrived at Byteball
You can now send money to usernames instead of wallet addresses.

This new feature is part of wallet v2.5.0, which also contained some bug fixes. See Github for details.
Byteball paper wallets are here
Community member Fabien created this Byteball paper wallet that you can download and use offline. Wallets can be created on both Mainnet and Testnet, and the code is on Github.
So why use a paper wallet? Several reasons:
In the actual wallet all newly created addresses are derived from the same seed. You do not generate a new seed when creating a new wallet in your main wallet
Paper wallets are easier to create as you can do it in one click and don’t need to download and install an app.
In the actual wallet there is no WIF (Wallet Import Format, an address format), but WIF will be required to broadcast units with Byteball.js.

Milestone - more than 1,000 pages of Byteball posts
On September 5 2016, founder Tony Churyumov announced Byteball to the world on the Bitcointalk forum.
The thread recently surpassed 1,000 pages of posts.
If you want to help out the Byteball project and are not currently contributing, joining the forum and being active in the thread would be beneficial. Bitcointalk is one of the largest cryptocurrency forums and has huge numbers of daily users.
Incidentally, Tony still posts on the thread, so if you want to bring something to his attention you might have more success here than trying other means. However, posting “when Binance, I demand Binance listing” is unlikely to get his attention.
