I Was Supposed To Cut Sugar Not Consume It

Today begins the start of my health journal. I wanted to do this because I think it's a fun way to hold myself accountable.

I did not have the best start to my day because of my lack of sleep. I ended up leaving the house without eating or drinking anything...not a good idea.

As soon as I got to my destination, my morning was filled with a cup of coffee, an energy drink, and some honey roasted peanuts. Pretty horrible combination for a person who is supposed to be cutting way down on sugar!

Lunch didn't get any better because my co-workers were throwing a pot luck and our main entrees were fried chicken and buffalo chicken dip. Both were good but not the best choice for me when I should have packed a healthy lunch.

Note to self: These are the type of bad decisions I make when I don't prepare to eat healthy. Preparation is important so that I don't make these type of mistakes.

After a few bad decisions I could have easily slipped into my thought cycle where I say that I'll just start another day...but this time I told myself that I would try to take some positives out of the day.

After lunch I purchased a 20oz bottle of water. I told my self that I would refill that bottle over and over until I drink a gallon of water. I knew I had needed water back in my life in a strong way because my skin was a bit drier than a few months before.

I had started back wearing my Fitbit HR Alta as well so that I could keep track of my steps again. Having my Fitbit on allows me to be active in a fun way. My daily step goal when I'm wearing it is 10,000 steps.

Our last break for the day didn't help because we had more food leftover and of course I ate some because I didn't pack my own lunch. I ate in moderation but I just didn't like the fact that I was eating fried food.

I started knocking the water back and walking around more and more. I told myself that I would hit both my water and steps goals even though I ate poorly for the day.

I ended the night with these stats:

February 25, 2018

Over 10,000 Steps

Over 5,400 Miles Walked

Over 5,400 Calories Burned

I also ended up drinking 120oz of water which was great! I'm happy to be getting back into an active routine. It started out a little rocky but I stuck with it. I'm not going super extreme because that'll lead to burn out. I'm looking to build back up to being consistent. From here I just look to improve day after day.

If you are interested in the Fitbit I have, Amazon has them here.

Till next time Steemians, Steem On!

To be fair, reducing or cutting sugar is extremely hard nowadays. There is sugar everywhere.
