B&W Photo Contest Minimalism Theme Entry: The McMicking Memorial in Ayala Triangle
So I have been an admirer of @daveks photos from quite some time and I may not be armed with a DSLR but made use of my Samsung S7 to take a picture of the McMicking Memorial.
A friend of mine often regaled me with the stories he has for being the right hand man of the Zobels for more than 2 decades. He often talked about how there should be a monument created for a visionary who thought to transform Makati from a then grassland to the heart of the financial district of Philippines.
I recall as he said that after the 2nd World war when the country was utterly devastated an enterprising colonel named Joseph McMicking and his wife Mercedes Zobel-McMicking created a 25 year plan on the development of Makati.
Most major corporations have headquarters here.
Here is my black and white photo of the memorial taken in the Ayala Triangle. I love how you take please in looking at the simple lines drawn by the light.
At night when the lights are turned on it looks so magical as water drips down like a watery curtain. Each drop illuminated by the lights and disappears in the hole only to be returned up and majestically rain down again. A cycle of beauty.
On sunny days it even creates a faint rainbow mist.
Here it is in color.
A bit nervous in joining a photography Contest but it is all about contributing.
Don't be afraid to join contests. It is about just giving your best and getting exposure to different people in the platform. Good luck!
Yeah but awesome talents like yours and @allmonitors you can't help but to feel nervous.
Anyone could win is what I always say to our group. That is why keep on entering. You will never know what the judges will like.
@maverickinvictus. Super like your black and white pic. Keep on doing it. :)
