B&W Photo Contest held by @daveks - Contest theme: Urban Motion
My first submission:
Theme definition: Urban Motion encapsulates people, objects, cityscapes, or the surreal in Motion.
About: Professional cyclist and former road race world champion Michal Kwiatkowski is powering his way through the streets of Herning (Denmark) on the first stage of Giro d' Italia 2012 a individual time trial (ITT) of only 8.4 km (5.2 mi). The stage was won by Taylor Phinney (USA) with Geraint Thomas coming up 2nd and Alex Rasmussen on 3rd place. Kwiatkowski finished 18th 29 seconds behind Phinney.
There's a 90 degree corner coming up. Given the short stage duration and road surface Kwiatkowski will probably be traveling with 40-50 km/h (25-31 mi/h) as the photo is taken. I think the photo turned out quite nicely bearing in mind that I was standing on a shakingly tribune and using a fairly poor camera :)

Nice pan! I don't see too many bike racing shots in black and white, but this works really well.
