B&W Photo Contest Asia - Pacific
For my bwphotocontest entry I choose a picture that sums up life in Asia.
Nothing is hidden away in Asia. There is no cover up about the realities of life. These ducks are going off the be slaughtered and then for people to consume. This isn't hidden in Asia. It is accepted here. Not hidden away removed from our lives until meat becomes a packet in a fridge.
This is an everyday scene in parts of the country. Further Asian life has been enhanced by modern technologies, but to a high degree people still live in a very old fashioned way. Pile the ducks high onto a scooter and off to the market we go!

Wow, thats pretty crazy. This reminds me of Nicaragua a little. Down there they will fit an entire family of 4 plus gear on one of these bikes. Its great what we see while traveling.

I find it interesting to luck at the faces of the ducks. Their beaks seem to naturally smile, but we know deep down they must be panicking and feel terrible.
So true- poor ducks :( thats why I had KFC instead tonight

The lifestyle in Asia is extremely different and I can imagine how much culture shock Asians go through when they move to another continent.
