Here's my final entry into the B&W Photo Contest, Waterscape theme.

This photo was taken through some wild weather at what is known as "Surfer's National Park" at Angourie Point in Yamba, New South Wales, Australia. The waves were crazy and well worth the drive & the walk to get down to Angourie’s grassy headland where all the action was at! No surfers were entering the waters (not at this location anyway) but they were all lined up, watching, talking and getting excited over the size of the waves! Photo was taken with a Canon D10.

wow these are some solid waves.

Lol :D Yes indeed!!! They were huge! And sets just kept on rolling in, hence why the enthusiasm from the surfers was really high! It was funny listening to them get SO excited as they just stood there and watched them! : )

It's also a really beautiful area!! Have you been there?

yes, just about 2-3 weeks ago. awesome place.

Oh awesome! Was there good waves when you were there? We've only been this one time so I've not seen what it is like on a normal day.

I love your reaction to our BBQ's... priceless!! ; )

Very dramatic! I wish I were standing there feeling and hearing the water!

Oh it was roaring... it was really awesome!!! It would go all quite while you could see the next set of waves forming out and back and once they were gaining momentum, you could hear them coming. They were really visually pleasing too, curling beautifully with a heap of mist coming off the top, you could easily stand there and watch and listen to them for hours! : )

Incredible! Must visit!

If I'm a surfer, I would be excited, too! However, thank God that I'm not because those waves have the intent to crush you.

Oh yes they were pretty lethal! Amazing to watch... not to live through! ; )
They were the biggest waves I've ever seen!!
