B&W Photo Contest - Bridges - Old City morning

Same Birzos Bridge as per yesterdays post, but view from the opposite side.

For those who missed, some history again

Birzos Bridge is the oldest bridge of the Klaipeda city whose location hasn’t changed until today. Supposedly, this bridge was built in the beginning of the 16th century, when the Old Town was first surrounded by the artificial bed of the Dane river in the north. (The current section of the river goes from the city’s defensive wall to the Karolis Bridge)
For a long time the bridge was wooden, but in 1879 a metal drawbridge, designed by the local architect Meyer, was opened.
