Buy/Sell Wall Guide for Newbies Interested in Investing in Steem Coins/Steem Power

in #buy8 years ago (edited)

I didn't realize how many people have no clue what a buy/sell wall is.

For people new to the scene, a buy wall is a large bid (in our case for Steem on the Bittrex.com exchange) that is created between multiple people or sometimes one person with a lot of coins as a way to increase the value of the coins for everyone who owns them.

-Buy walls encourage growth because investors use the wall as a safety net they can sell to in order to prevent a major loss.
-The bigger the buy wall the more growth it will spur.
-One tactic involves an organized effort to sustain a buy wall that stays updated with the price rise just behind it a few buy orders to catch any panic sellers that will already be discouraged from selling because of the buy wall.

Sell walls work the opposite way for value. Sell walls are often times the reason a stock or share is stunted or slowed.

You can increase the speed at which your shares value grow by buying and holding, this is called 'longing'.

Shorting is what 'pump and dumpers' do and hurts the value.

Some walls put up are fake and will be pulled after tricking buyers to buy or sellers to sell. You can almost always assume it's real if it's been there for a long time and is up very close to the top of the order list, especially in a market with relatively high volume.

So if you aren't sure when to get in, if someone told you to buy on a dip and you cant figure out when its probably going to dip, remember to look for large long standing buy walls and try to buy as close as a price as you can get to it.

As i'm typing this there is a non-updating 86 bitcoin wall up at the 0.0058600 mark that's been there for a long time i believe put there by a whale (1 person) and was at the tippy top of the buy list for a long time so i can assume it's real.

Were right at 0.0061 so now is a great time to buy and hold with good chance of minimal loss if any. The odds are heavily in favor of the buyers at this point in time. The sell wall(s) up ahead will melt from one good push from our fast growing community. The earlier you get in the more money you earn.

Let me know what to write about next. If you are new and having trouble figuring out how to get steem coins or using the exchanges to invest I might do a guide on it.

Thanks for starting this thread. I was about to start a similair discussion. The decision to buy a coin should be based on real analysis of the coin. I found that people keep buying coins without have any knowledge of them. This is considered high risk. Does anyone know about: https://www.coincheckup.com They researched and analyzed every tradable coin out there.

very great guide, concise and easy to understand guide for the newer traders. Looking forward to reading more of your articles.
