Thursday is Butterfly Day Giveaway: Week 9. Post your butterfly photos or artwork for a chance to win Steem Basic Income Shares. 2-SBI shares will be given away, one for artwork and one for photos. If no artwork is submitted, 2-SBI shares will be given away for photos. You have 6 days for entries in this post and then a new contest will begin. Photos and artwork will not be judged and winners will be chosen at random. The winners for Week 8 are @djynn and @karbon. Congratulations!
1-One submission per person per week.
2-All photos and artwork must be your own work. Photos and artwork from the internet will not be accepted.
3-Make your own butterfly post and use the tag #butterflyday as your first tag.

This small butterfly was so far away and wouldn't let me get close to it without flying away, but it always came back. I was happy that a few of the photos turned out because I usually only see these blue ones once a year. The Eastern-tailed Blue gets its name because they are blue and have a small tail at the end of each wing.
The orange eyespots on the hindwings serves a purpose for their bird predators. Birds think that the eyespots are the butterfly's head so when the bird pecks at it, a small part of the wing gets damaged but at least the butterfly escapes certain death.
