Here are my photos for this week of the Cabbage White Butterfly.

You know how happy I am when I can catch a butterfly in flight. Yay!

And when I can capture my subject's face. Yay!

Cabbage Whites are usually the first butterfly I see every spring and the last I see every fall. You can easily find these butterflies around vegetable gardens and they sip nectar from a variety of flowers. Their caterpillars love to eat the leaves of cabbage plants, hence their name.

If you see one black spot on the center of each forewing, it is a male. Two black spots in the same place is a female.
