TRAVELBLOG#10: LOST IN HOI AN
Hey everyone, I have came back from my long term trip. It's glad to be back! To be honest, I tried to update on steemit during my trip so that everyone can enjoy the great spirit with me. But the problem is I have to move a lot, there were so many things I want to do, many new dishes to try ... so there was no time for using cellphone.
My first destination was Hoi An - the old town of Quang Nam. Hoi An ancient town is located on the romanticThu Bon irverside. This place was once known as Faifoo, which the merchants of Japan, China, Portugal, Italy, etc. have known since the 16th, 17th centuries. It was a major trading center of Southeast Asia.
I chose a 3 stars hotel, which is 1 km from Cua Dai Beach and 3kms from Hoi An ancient town. This place is mainly for foreign tourist, so the price is slightly higher for Vietnamese but instead they provide really good service. I was very satisfied! I stayed here for 2 days to discover all the interesting things of Hoi An.
On days, Hoi An appears quiet and few people. But when nights fall, Hoi An becomes a tourist attraction. This is a small old town but convergence of cultures from many different countries.
The most special thing in Hoi An is there are many temples and shrines there. If you know about cultures in the world you will see the difference between the temples of Vietnamese, Chinese and Japanese.
Local people also speak varieties of languages. This is a benefit for their business. They can easily comunicate in Korean, English, Chinese, even Thai.
Visitors can participate in many activities here: shopping, visiting ancient houses, floating lanterns on river, praying, eating ...
Hoi An Market, dating back to the 17th century, is now a popular destination with many delicious dishes.I personally do not like some of the dishes here because of the regional differences. The taste of Hoi An people is quite sweet. For me to say, I prefer the balance between sour, spicy, salty sweet more. However, chicken rice is a dish you definitely have to try when come to Hoi An. No matter how hard you are, chicken rice will make you speechless.

Thanks for the excellent intro to Hoi An. I'd love to visit it someday. In particular, I'd love to come to Vietnam again ... at least for the fresh and delicious food!
