Yeah, I don't get the point. People pay each other when they bring each other value. Not empathy.

When is the last time you've heard of anyone getting a raise at work because their boss was feeling empathetic?

It's the wrong word to use in this argument. I can think of 100 good reasons for the whales to do a better job, most of them would have to do with value, success, greed, ... I don't get the empathy point of view at all. :)
