Several space observatories found that the interstellar object called Oumuamua had a sudden change of trajectory, due to an unexpected impulse. The NASA on a video portal YouTube question is whether it is an interstellar asteroid or comet.

Oumuamua is the first confirmed interstellar object that has arrived in our Solar System . His name is of Hawaiian origin and means 'messenger of a distant past'.

Now scientists have analyzed the data from several observatories, including the Hubble Space Telescope NASA , and found that Oumuamua won an unexpected speed boost.

The NASA explains in his channel YouTube that the Hubble observations combined with data from multiple observatories, showed that Oumuamua has a small gravitational acceleration is not continuous. Something besides the gravity of the Sun and the planets was affecting the Oumuamua trajectory .

A probable source of this acceleration is a jet of gas that comes behind the object. This behavior is similar to objects that have already been identified as comets . When they approach the Sun, the ice of comets sublimates into gas and gas ejections can push the object.

Usually when comets do this, the gas ejection can be seen because it releases large amounts of dust, which in turn forms a cloud around the object, called a coma , and a tail.

However, with the Oumuamua , no coma or tail has been seen . Perhaps theorizes NASA in the video on YouTube , Oumuamua does not have a lot of dust after a long interstellar travel, which would make it very difficult to see for scientists on Earth .
