My World Cup Predictions

Germany were very poor against Mexico. They were all over the place defensively and should have lost by more than just 1-0. They struggled to create chances, but I fancy them to go deep into the tournament in Russia.

For this must-win clash with Sweden, they’ll need to improve at both ends of the pitch. Sweden are a decent side, and are extremely well organised. They enjoyed a good 1-0 win in their first game against South Korea - putting them in a great position to qualify from the group. But I’m backing Germany to bounce back here and show their ability.

My Prediction.
Germany 2 vs 1 Sweden

Roberto Martinez is unlikely to make any changes to the team that beat Panama, with Romelu Lukaku leading the line after a brace against the Central Americans. Jan Vertonghen, Kevin De Bruyne, and Thomas Meunier are all carrying yellow cards though. Vincent Kompany remains injured.

Belgium are unbeaten in their three previous World Cup games against African opponents, with a draw against Tunisia in 2002 the only game they failed to win.

My prediction.
Belgium 2 vs 0 Tunisia

After a fantastic first half, England looked a very good team against Tunisia. They dropped off in the second half, mostly due to the hot conditions, but should be pleased with the performance. Henderson, Trippier and Stones all played well, while Harry Kane scored two typical strikers goals.

The performances dropped off in the second half, but England did enough to grab the crucial three points. Panama are a physical side, so expect bookings against England, but as shown by their heavy defeat to Belgium, they lack quality, especially in attack. I’m backing England to have too much quality and with Kane scoring again and looking good for the Golden Boot.
