On this afternoon, Chhatra League President Nure Alam Siddiqui chaired the rally at Paltan Maidan. In this meeting, Chhatra League general secretary Shajahan Siraj read out the declaration of Bangladesh's independence on behalf of Siraj Pranthi Chattra League (Independent Bangla Nucleus). Proposal was made in the form of declaration- 'Bangladesh's name as independent and sovereign state as the homestead for seven crore people in a geographical area of 54 thousand 506 sq. Miles. The following three goals will be achieved by forming this country:

  1. By establishing an independent and sovereign Bangladesh, there should be a creation of a dynamic Bengali nation on the earth and the development of language, literature, culture and culture of Bangali.

  2. In the areas of the region by forming an independent and sovereign Bangladesh, the establishment of socialist economy will be established by establishing peasant labor politics for the purpose of resolving discrimination in the person.

  3. Forming an independent and sovereign Bangladesh, a complete democracy will be established, including freedom of person, speech and newspaper.

At the same time, the decision to use the song as the national anthem of Tagore Rabindranath Tagore's 'My Sonar Bangla, I Love You' was announced at that meeting.

When the proposal was received in the heavy grip, Pulton and the adjoining areas became embroiled in the 'Joy Bangla' slogan. It should be remembered that Bangabandhu himself still avoided such announcement.

The proposal was written by MA Rashid, secretary of BCL office. Sadly, the original copy of this proposal is not present in newspapers except paper.

In that same meeting, Sheikh Mujib called the non-violence non-cooperation movement and urged the Yahya government to immediately bring the army back to the barracks and hand over power to the public representatives. He urged to stop the rent tax as the first step of non-cooperation. If the change of attitude of the Pakistani ruling party does not change, then the next course of action will be given in the racecourse (now Suhrawardy Udyan) rally on 7th March.

To bring about the status of the situation, the government has introduced the Evening Law. But it continued without ignoring the people's protest and rally.
