Doubting After Drinking
India is the world's largest consumer of tea and 2nd largest exporter after China. India's Assam Tea and Darjeeling Tea are famous tea named after their places of origin.
Although consumption of tea in India was mentioned in the Indian epic, the Ramayana (750-500 BCE) and some other records, the commercial production of tea did not begin until the arrival of the British East India Company.
Doubting After Drinking
Recently, there's a controversy around tea on train. Some tea sellers on Chennai-Hyderabad Express were caught using toilet water to make tea? A Twitter user, Punit Tyagi, shared the video where the Railway employees were seen filling their tea kettles from the railway toilets.
One internet user, Ollie Kevin Francis, reacted, "You couldnt pay me enough to visit this country. Seriously gross on so many levels".
The good news is, according to news reports, the contractor has been fined with Rs. 1 lakh (that's about 1500 USD?).
