I know how to help the steemit platform and its easy as hell.

Move or replace the absolutely useless interesting people tab on the right and in its place put a slightly fancier display for the top 5 most promoted posts. The most promoted post of the entire page can appear in the feed at the top of the page. Then make it so SBD and steem are needed to use the promotion system thus both SBD and steem are both destroyed.

Once this is in place there will actually be incentive to use the promotion system which will in turn cause deflation as people begin destroying currency to gain the higher spot.

edit : Allow people to hide the posts if they would like to by simply upvoting or flagging it. You can also optionally pay a small amount of steem / sbd to hide ads if you want to.
