The Talent Of Steemians: If You Are Overwhelmed With Trying To Stay Up On Crypto, Here Is Your Answer

Steemians are very talented people. This single blockchain is showing on a daily basis why centralized institutions do not stand a chance at stopping what is coming down the road. We are going to see an innovation explosion due to decentralization.

Ironic, that what I am referring to is located and was created for a centralized platform. Nevertheless, it is something that I find very helpful and I am sure some of the newer Steemians would appreciate learning about it. As for your long time followers, the updates might help since I covered this before.

One of the biggest problems with the crypto world is getting overwhelmed. We have our tokens in a variety of different wallets. Since exchanges are mostly centralized, it is foolish to keep them on there. Hence, we have stuff all over the place.

At the same time, news can be difficult to keep track of. What is going on with each of our currencies. Sure, we check sites like Cointelegraph and Coindesk which provides some information, but not enough. Hours can be spent searching sites that provide little of what we are interested in.

Now that problem is solved.

We are fortunate to have a talent individual in @cryptoeagle who developed an Android app (IOS is experiencing personnel difficulties, please stand by) that goes along with a system he created for developing cryptocurrency wealth. You can find this highlights to his system on his blog.

What I want to highlight is the application that he designed. Downloaded from the Play Store, this app allows one to track any currency. Using the feed of Coinmarketcap.com, one can enter any of the tokens listed on there and the amount owned. This is a handy way to keep track of what you have. Bear in mind, this is not a wallet so no keys are entered. It only is a way to follow the progress of your tokens which you manually enter the amounts held.

In the last update, a few key features were added. The first is PIN security. With this update, one can set up a PIN to be entered each time opening the application. This is a nice feature to keep prying eyes out.

Pretty neat stuff but nothing Earth shattering.

But wait, there is more.....

The feature I love is the newsfeed. After one adds a particular token to the home screen, all news can be found by selecting that coin and then "news".

For currencies that do not have a lot of media attention, like STEEM, most of what is on the feed is price movement information. However, when you look at something like BTC or LTC, you see a lot of links in the last 24 hours.

To me, this is an ideal way to keep up with the news on tokens you either own or are interested in. Simply by adding them to your home screen (if you don't own a token, you might have to enter 1 in there just for the application to give you the information), you always have the latest news at your finger tips.

Another interesting factor to all this is you can add where the information comes from.

I like the idea of having Reddit feed in since many on that site tend to link to some obscure stuff.

Either way, I find this to be an ideal way to manage the news on the tokens I am presently holding. We all know that going down the cryptocurrency rabbit hole can be overwhelming. This is a way to manage it a bit better.

So if you have not done so already, go ahead and download @cryptoeagle's app. As I stated, it is Android only.

By the way, if you are an IOS programmer, drop him a line, he is looking for someone to create the application for Apple.

Yup, already using this badboy

@cryptoeagle is the bomb. Fortunate enough to have found him and got into his idea of owning 1 millionth of a coin to reach financial freedom. @taskmaster4450 Thanks for the app review.

Thanks for the tip, and thanks @cryptoeagle! To me, this app looks like the perfect "aggregator" wallet without the privacy hassles--just fat-finger in your quantities and there's no mint.com poking around in your individual accounts.

Heck, if you're really only interested in news and overall price movements, just enter quantity=1 for everything--then no snoopers will know your exact wealth (or in my case, lack thereof lol).

Hi @upcyclist.
Cool, you can use quantity=0 too. I use this all the time for many of the coins I don't have yet but that I want to follow. You can also use any "fake amounts", this app does not check or transmit any portfolio info to the internet and, even if it did, it wouldn't be meaningful because users can make up any of the numbers. Unlike other more "creepily snoopy free" apps such as blockfolio we don't care or store online in a centralized server where you bought the coins, at what price, and other juicy bits of information that could be of interest to government agencies or hackers... We make our money through ads and subscriptions. No secrets here. regards

Or you could hash your holdings with pi to 100 digits and....okay, that's just ridiculous. Hope you had a happy Pi Day ;)

Android peasants rejoice :))) pretty cool combination between portfolio tracker and news feed.

Hey, I just saw this! Cool! I've been very involved with the new Diversification Score, dusting off math and statistics books from Wikipedia mainly hehe ;) so I didn't see the post sooner. Thanks Task! It's so great to have good positive friends like you to help us cope with the crypto winter blues hehe. Best regards!

Dang! I am going to install this tut suite! Once again a gem from @taskmaster4450!

The application looks very good, it's sometimes cumbersome to have several wallets installed in the phone. Regards

Yes, many wallets gets annoying and confusing.

With all the different wallets that some may have, this will be great for them. I don't have a lot of different cryptos right now, but this will be useful in a few years.

Ahh, this is definitely a great app! Going to download this one for sure. Tracking the cryptos that I hold in one place makes life much easier... Plus, the feed thing is a fantastic idea. Great way to keep up with all the news about your favorite coins.

That is what I found although it does make me a bit neurotic throughout the day always checking on the prices.

Oh well, cant blame the app for that...that is something for my counselor. 😁

Haha, well that happens to most of us when it comes to checking crypto prices!
