Take the plunge!

I remember writing a post on the first day of the year about writing a list of goals to achieve and making sure our faith never wavered in what we hope for.

This year, I decided to start my own media company. I was just sick and tired of the way the industry operates in Nigeria. I decided that it was time for me to take the plunge and make a difference.

This is because I long for an era when people will get jobs because they deserve it and not just because they know a certain person / people at the top. That, sadly is the nature of the country I am today. A nation will continue to take a nose dive into chaos in all sectors if it does not support the intellectual growth and increase in skills of the young people in it.

Many organisations put on a facade saying "we support the growth and development of young people". But when you dig deeper, you see that it's just a facade. They do not care for anything except their pockets. They do not even allow undergraduates work as interns. So, yearly, what we have is a large influx of inexperienced graduates in the labour market , milling around and looking for jobs. The ones with connections get jobs. But the ones without connections are stranded. Some of them are even very brilliant students. This accounts for the high level of social vices in the country like internet fraud, prostitution, kidnapping and the likes.

I did not write the above to make anyone sad. No. Solutions can be formulated only when a problem is understood. I have decided to give my quota in making youths all over Nigeria empowered for economic success especially through steemit and other platforms on which my company will be operating.

The name of my media company got approved recently, it is the most beautiful thing in my life right now. Steemit has made a huge part of this possible.

I am dedicating this post to every steemian who is working tirelessly to combat the ills in his/her society,to every steemian who is not afraid to challenge the status quo and to every steemian who has got the tenacity to dream;because when you have that,everything is possible.
