Weekly Sample Portfolio Update - Week 10
Hi Steemians,
here is my weekly sample portfolio update for Friday, March 8th, 2019.
Finally volatility is back, so let's jump right in.
Closing TLT April Straddle
I sold this straddle for a credit of $3.33.
Today I took it off just 6 cents shy of my profit target before the weekend.
So I made a profit of $63 per one lot.
GLD Inverted Strangle
My overall credit for this position is $5.59.
Since this inverted strangle is 5 points wide, the max I can make is 59 cents ($59 per one lot)
I probably will close this position, when I'm able to scratch it or at 21 DTE.
At the moment this position is down $1 ($100 per one lot).
Closing FXE April 30 Delta Strangle
I sold this strangle for a credit of $1.09.
On Thursday, March 7th 2019 I closed it for a profit of 27 cents ($27 per one lot), since my short put got tested.
Closing XLE April Straddle
I sold this straddle for a credit of $4.08.
On Thursday, March 7th 2019 I closed it for a profit of 46 cents ($46 per one lot), since it felt like markets will sell off (which they did).
Delta Adjustment in IWM April 30 Delta Strangle
Today my short put got tested, therefore I rolled down my short call into a straddle for a credit of $3.33.
My overall credit on this position is $6.83.
My profit target hasn't changed, it is still the 16 delta strangle credit ($1.75).
So I'm going to close this position, when it trades for $5.08 or at 21 DTE.
At the moment this position is down 58 cents ($58 per one lot).
Closing RUT Put Calendar Spread
On Wednesday, March 6th 2019 I closed this position for a profit of $120 per one lot.
QQQ April Straddle (problem child)
My overall credit for this position is $12.94.
The sell off helped, but this position is still down $12.85 ($1,285).
SPY April Aggressive Short Delta Strangle
When we get a pop in the VIX, I always put on an aggressive short delta strangle (more on aggressive short delta strangle in my second book).
I did put this position on yesterday for a credit of $6.40.
My profit target as always for strangles was the 16 delta strangle credit ($2.40).
Since it came in so fast, I closed it today for a profit of $123 per one lot.
