Happy Easter (in a non-religious sense)
These eggs were produced by my mother's happy free-range chickens
Mixing the mundane and the magic
Contrasting text and pictures.
Blending into context.
Innocent creatures.

Religious holidays like Easter or Christmas and associated traditions are often used as positive examples when cherry-picking from the bible.
Even if I don't like the fantasy stories behind them, I have nothing against rather harmless traditions' positive components:
- Fun for children (although they are being lied to - the anticipation and joy of Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny, egg hunts and everything around it almost lets us forget about the history and nature of religion)
- Community or family festivities
- Spending time with loved ones
My question is though: why can't we have these things without the burden of religion? Without the fear of an almighty god, a vicious, vengeful, immoral being invented by Bronze Age desert tribesmen (insert your religion's respective founder) to oppress and rule over others.
Religion and men (yes, male humans, who oppressed females) in the name of religion are responsible for centuries of suffering, misery, pain, death and war with no end in sight.
If you think that sounds too grim, you're probably lucky enough to be living in a country that is progressive enough to let you choose or lose your religion.
So one important step is to build an informed and educated society that can do its own research and decide what to do with the information gathered, not falling for political or religious propaganda.
Good people will do good things, and bad people will do bad things. But for good people to do bad things - that takes religion. - Steven Weinberg
And now back to some mundane pictures of innocent creatures...
Like the chickens that laid them, the eggs vary in color, size and form
Many different breeds of chickens live in this huge orchard alongside some roosters, pot-bellied pigs and some ducks.
Thanks to my parents...
...who didn't baptize me, raised me confessionless and thus spared me the lifelong struggle of overcoming faith, that many people have.
