It would be difficult to imagine a greater contrast between successive emperors than if Maximin Thrax occupied the throne of Alexander Severus. The "mother's coconut", which was killed with her mother by order of Maximinus, was replaced by an old shepherd from Thrace (modern north and south of Greece), who was a giant of a man of eight feet and extremely moist

Gaius Julius Vero Maximinus looks like a name that would have been used by a noble Roman origin, but its owner was widely considered semi-barbarian who could not Latin. He was born around 173 and had only the most basic education. As he continued to grow at full speed, he got used to resolving conflicts with fists instead of conflict.

He enlisted in the army and quickly climbed the ladder. He drew the attention of Emperor Alejandro Severo and began training recruits. It must be assumed that an internship under Maximin would not have been a pleasant experience.

Another hypothesis must be that Maximin had a very low opinion on Kaiser's question, so it should not be surprising to know that the riot that led to Alexander's death in 235, led by the Thracian Thracians. After the initial moderation, he accepted the support of the army as the next emperor.

Alexander Severus was reluctant to take military action against the German tribes who threatened the northern borders of the empire and preferred to buy them instead of attacking them. Massimino did not have such troubles and immediately launched a campaign against the Germans on the other side of the Rhine, he also kept the Dacians and Sarmatians and agreed to respond violently if they had more difficulties.

However, these steps had consequences that would have led to the dissolution of the new emperor. Military activities cost money, especially when army wages increase and taxes are increased to pay the bill. One way for Massimo to raise money was to reduce wheat subsidies, which made it unpopular with the general population.

Maximin was a Roman emperor who never entered Rome. Therefore, he has always faced the resistance of the aristocratic members of the Senate, who refused to be led by a stranger whom they had never seen.

238, the Senate takes advantage of this opportunity when a former senator named Gordian declares himself emperor and with his son, who is also called Gordian, reigns in North Africa. The Goths did not last long and were killed by the governor of Numidia, who supported Maximinus.

The Senate clearly needed plan B and developed two imperial candidates, Pupienus and Balbino, who would rule together. Among them was a third Gordian, the thirteen-year-old nephew of the second Gordian, part of an imperial university.

Maximinus, who was officially introduced by the Senate, could barely tolerate things. He went to Rome, accompanied by his son, whom he had named as his successor. He became the victim of the community. This happened after his army failed to conquer the city of Aquileia and spent three weeks due to the steady dwindling of supplies.

There are several reports on how the end of Maximinus arrived. In one version, the soldiers kill Maximin's son and heir, after which Massimino committed suicide. Another says that father and son were killed together and put their heads on the poles.

In any case, Maximinus Thrax's rule was neither long nor excellent. He gained his place in history because he was the first of six men to hold the title of emperor in 238.
