I am a little worried here. BUT, Steem needs to grow, or it will die; so this will be good I hope! I am just concerned that things will go twitter on post, with short post that are superficial. But, as you say, we are doing what we can do, so hopefully it will be good.

I have been living with the same worries for months. I've got this idea that the platform is killing itself, in various ways.
So it is up to us to prevent that from happening :0)
I am hoping for the best with steemit, and would do anything to help stabilize it. The hard fork does worry me, but I am willing to wait and see.
