Matter, Materials and their properties.
Today's theme is about matter, that is, today I will talk a little about matter, phases of matter, properties of materials and classification of materials. I hope you like and learn with me this new topic.
Material, materials and their properties:
In our daily life we make use of a wide range of materials, such as clothes, air, water, shoes, notebooks, among others.
Matter is everything that has mass and occupies place in space. The rock, the water, the air, the plants, the living beings and the non-living.
The matter also comprises the various types of energy even if it has no body or mass. Are the different ways in which the matter is presented; All matter is made up of atoms.
Phases of matter
- Solid: atoms are strongly attached, they can not be moved so it is very hard and solid material.

- Liquid: atoms are weakly linked together, have mobility their union is not rigid and acquires the shape of the container that contains it.

- Gaseous: atoms are very separate and disordered, have no definite shape and occupy all available space.
Material properties:
The mass: is the amount of material that possesses materials independently of its shape, size, is measured with a balance and expressed in grams and kilograms.
The Volume: In space occupies a material, give three dimensions in space (width, height and depth) is expressed in cubic centimeters (Cm3-solid) (ML3-liquid) (knot-gaseous).
Density: is the property that is expressed between the mass and the volume of a material they occupy (the one that passes more).
Materials classification:
Pure substances: are those that are in natural form in the environment like: gold, diamond, bronze, copper, aluminum, oxygen, among others.
Mixtures: are formed by the Union by two or more different materials without chemical changes occur in them (eg: water = H2O)
