The police claimed to have solved the case of killing Major's wife in the Canton area of the capital. On Sunday, accused Nikhil Handa was arrested by the Delhi Police from Meerut. A police official claimed that there was a love affair between Major Nikhil Handa and Shailaja and the accused wanted to marry Major Nikhil Handa Selja. According to the police, Major Handa has two children and was introduced between Selja and her husband when both were stationed in Nagaland. Approximately 15 days before the accused Major came to Delhi in the name of treatment. On Saturday, he met Selja at Army's Base Hospital. After this, she turned Selja into her car and during this time she got upset about something and both of them threw her out of the car after sheding her throat. After this, the accused allegedly crushed Selja's face with her car so that it could be turned into an accident. The accused Major Nikhil family lives in Saket, Delhi. Two knives have also been recovered from Major Nikhil, which shows that Major Nikhil had already planned to kill Selja. Sujak's needle turned to Nikhil Handa when Selja's husband Major Amit saw Major Handa at the CCTV footage of the hospital, where his wife went for physiotherapy. After this he gave the information to the police. When the police wanted to contact Major Handa, his phone was switched off, after which the suspicion of the police became convincing. The police speed up its search operation and found that he was hiding in the officers' mess of Meerut Cantonment. Later, a team of Delhi Police reached Meerut and took custody of Major Handa. In fact, posting of both Major Nikhil and Major Amit was in Dimapur and during this time relations between the two families increased. But during this time Major Nikhil went attracted to Selja. Selja was from Amritsar, while Major Amit Dwivedi was from Farrukhabad in Uttar Pradesh.
