POEM: LEADER LET DOWN
The boy walks in a memory
where stars impaled the street
the hot and cold tributaries
make him complete
The cracks in asphalt meet his feet
with the rubble, he forms a crown
he coronates himself in the wake
of a leader let down
Novas knew that gravity
crushing his cranium
tears and tantrums
reined in the sepia stadium
Those in box seats
observed
and he went on to become
the person he deserved
In the night, his streets
would not look the same
the sidewalks swirled
into a plane
The blackhole billboards
empathized
as they removed the vision
of hope
He moved on to remain
in the moment
to reign based on
what he knew
They melted their crowns
into bookshelves
filing power
in ascending order
Those with the least
were given the most knowledge
those without
were admitted
They time-capsuled titles
for they had names
and thus had a place
to store their fame
They didn't have creeds
they didn't recede
everyone had what they needed

the greatest lines in the poem are
In the night, his streets
would not look the same
the sidewalks swirled
into a plane
The blackhole billboards
empathized
as they removed the vision
of hope

The traditional idea that having at least an acquaintance with major poetry, both classical and modern, constitutes a necessary part of any respectable intellectual portfolio appears to have given way to the attitude that an affinity for poetry qualifies one for membership in an insular subculture,

hi @rubenalexander you are sharing awesome poetry very impressive really like it and upvoted.
Perhaps the most vital element of sound in poetry is rhythm. Often the rhythm of each line is arranged in a particular meter. Different types of meter played key roles in Classical, Early European, Eastern and Modern poetry. In the case of free verse, the rhythm of lines is often organized into looser units of cadence.
