trip up the mountain

My journey starts from Friday, April 18, 2017

Our meeting point is the Kerinci Padang Around 10 pm, we depart from Aceh to Mount Kerinci. Arrived at Mount Kerinci around dawn. The "mountain climbing" journey will start Saturday morning at 08.00, so the remaining time available is used for a short (sleeping) break of a few hours. Saturday morning at 6am we had a busy breakfast & wash my face (just wash my face, if bath think about it deh ..., water like ice water :)))

At about 8 am we headed to the first post just a few dozen meters from where we were staying. At this first post we got a brief briefing, and then ... the journey begins! 😀

The first destination of Saturday's trip was Surya Kencana Square, where our party arrived at Surya Kencana at around 14.00 WIB. It should be much faster if the method of climbing the mountain is not "a 10 minute walk, a 5 minute break"! Slowly but sure lah ya ... !! :)) In Surya Kencana here is the location of the climbers set up tents and overnight. Sunday morning new deh to the summit of Mount Gede which is about 1 hour climb from Surya Kencana.

Initially there is an offer whether we want to "catch" the sunrise at the top of Mount Kerinci or not. If you want to catch the sunrise, it means we have to get up very early in the morning about 1 hour before dawn and continue the journey to the top. But ... because tired, then from our group there is no interest to catch the sunrise! :)) all thoughts for a good night's sleep are the night. hahaha ... :)) - but after finished cooking for dinner, we all go to bed - new condition at 8an malem :))

Despite wearing a 4-piece shirt (including a jacket) and sleeping with a sleeping bag, in the middle of the night the temperature in Surya Kencana still felt really bad, which made me have to wake up several times during the cold. But as soon as you wake up in the morning around 5-6, the weather tastes how nikmaaat banget! Temperatures that feel cool cool, plus the morning sun just rising plus mountain air is still clean (banget), perfect lah !! 😀

Sunday morning at 8 am we started packing and tidying up the tent, of course after breakfast ... At 9 o'clock we started walking towards the summit. About 1 hour climbing, aka at 10am we managed to reach the peak of Mount Kerinci !!! : dancing: The peak of this Kerinci Mountain has a height of 3,805.m
