Thoughts on the idea how much we deservesteemCreated with Sketch.

How many times have you ask yourself if you deserve something?

This idea comes first and ultimately you will be thinking what someone else have done to deserve something you might want and haven't get the chance to enjoy. This is human nature, it is hard for someone to start thinking the path that person has been through to get where he is or to get what he owns. We by nature want to get as much as possible with the minimum effort. When I first got into steemit I was (as many new users) hoping to get lots of votes and comments and I was not even close to stop for 1 minute to think on the post title. Then things got easier, everyone was upvoting and sending comments because there was a high volume of new users and everything was just perfect, green and hopes were sky high.
Today the story is different, there is way less active users, votes and comments. There is less value in the token (not getting started on the platform value). People are annoyed, people who invested in crypto has lost, recovery seems to be far away and I've seen people fleeing to other platforms, dropping all crypto for something else and I've come to the idea of: what have we done to deserve this?
It is easier to blame others, the market the hard time getting an account for a new user, staying active and engage with all this kind of get rich scheme and lots of successful steemians, people just stopped sharing the good. Most are here no matter what price is the token because they I've found value in the community and the people. Many people are still here just hoping for the new price explosion to take advantage of it. But I've found myself here just because I've seen how some steemians are willing to do good, to fund projects, to cooperate and actively support good causes and eventually changing lives. Even if this sounds good, we are still missing the point here, you need to do something good and positively move blockchain, impact it, do something that will last forever in the blockchain live. Every time we are doing something in this platform we are adding value but we are also showing others how good an be done with this technology, sadly we are just seeing people asking things for free, not really adding value and expecting lots of rewards, people just think for themselves and not sharing the good with others.
When I started here in steemit I also started to learn about everything and I found this very valuable, people are willing to share knowledge for free or in exchange of a voluntary donation and that was magical in my opinion. Who is doing things for free nowadays? How can people find themselves enjoying the fact that posting knowledge will help others in their own benefit and not really taking profit of that.
How much is a vote costing you? Even that is theoretically something you have earn for your efforts people prefer to vote themselves rather than sharing it with others. Why would you do so? That is short vision and is not helping the development of the blockchain and the increase invaluable overall.
I believe in helping others grow so everyone can grow together and help each other and then there were amazing projects that started to do so like @steembasicincome and why not? I've seen people struggling to send 1 STEEM to others and grow together and even helping many more users that are enjoying the benefits of being part of @steembasicincome. @treeplanter is a great to help preserver mother earth and nature and also provide a nice surprise to someone else and the idea is to donate something and also help someone else to get more rewards but sadly many are abusing it by just doing self votes, at the end they are always helping to preserver nature which is good. @adollaraday is another great initiative to provide support to projects doing great. @qurator will help authors to get more rewards for their valuable additions to the blockchain and why are you loosing the opportunity.
In fact I believe everything will be reduced to a simple thinking of I deserve more, people are paying upvotes for short term profit not really seeing the benefit of maybe sharing part of that donation with the followers that constantly support their posts and keep on increasing their wealth over time. We need to thinking on common good first, help your followers grow so they can keep helping you grow as well. What are you doing to help your followers?
When I started on trading I was expecting lots of profit and ended up loosing a lot and my first though was: do I deserve this? I should've started by educating myself, training myself, readings news and books about trading before deserving to actually get some profits and that is my key point because I believe we all tend to think we deserve a lot without actually doing something to be able earn something.

Great point and well said. So easy to be sold the quick and easy money, but there's always a price to be paid. Best to stay focused on the reason you involved to begin with.
